I have over 25 years’ experience of asset finance in positions including being a manager of a sales support team at a large corporate-owned lender and a broker manager for a number of independent lenders specialising in the SME sector. From these roles I have gained an extensive all-round knowledge of asset finance, covering credit and documentation, business development and relationship management, and systems and process improvement.

Director – WeDo Loans

I set up WeDo Loans early 2023, with a vision to transform the working capital space for SME’s in relation to unsecured funding. Business loans have for a long time been expensive short term borrowing with high repayment structures that negatively affect business cashflow, yet are are taken out of pure necessity. Having worked within the corporate lending and brokering space, I have a well versed knowledge of the current market conditions and how SME’s are being affected. We are here to try and plug the gap between necessity, accessibility and freedom of choice. As a new start business I have been extremely busy making sure we are here to stay. All whilst balancing a very happy family life consisting of my two young children and partner. I am a keen sportsman, and I am yet to find anyone in this industry that can hit a golf ball further than me, all challenges accepted.

I have been in finance for nearly 30 years, starting in automotive with Lloyds TSB, promoted to corporate dealing with block discounting and large van fleet funding requirements, before moving to Capital Bank in the direct commercial client space funding plant and equipment. I was then head-hunted to GE Capital Woodchester back in the automotive sector but soon remembered why it was not for me, before spending a couple of years broking. I was then fortunate enough to work at Davenham for 10 years and was recruited by Mark Lindsay, who is co-founder of the WeDo group working on specialist ABL lends up to £3m incorporating asset, trade, invoice, second charge equity lending before going off on maternity leave the night before I had my twin children. I returned to work at Close when they were 3 years old again in the direct commercial/corporate space.

I have worked in finance for 30 years, mostly in Asset Finance but I also have experience in Trade Finance.During a five year stint in Australia I spent a crazy couple of years working for a television production company before heading back to the corporate world, specialising in salary packaging. I am very customer focused with a flexible, knowledgeable, can-do attitude and meticulous attention to detail.In my personal life I love travelling overseas, theatre and long walks with my husband and little dog, Coco.

I set up WeDo Trade Finance in 2020 with a desire to simplify the message round how Trade Finance can support SME businesses and also to make it more easily accessible. With over 35 years of Banking, Trade Finance and Asset Based Lending experience I am keen to support well run SME businesses with their growth aspirations and believe in a true relationship led approach to achieve this. Having worked for large International Banks, Challenger Banks and different sized Asset Based Lenders over the last 3 decades, it feels like now is the right time to pull all the good things I have learnt together and that is what WeDo Trade Finance is all about. And it is certainly keeping me busy – although I do still make sure there is time for family, friends, sport (watching rather than playing these days) and good food and wine.
